| The magnificent scenery of the Conca de Tremp can be seen from the bedrooms: in the distance, Lake San Antoni, where all types of water sports can be practised; behind us, the Sierra de Montllobar with its ancient watchtower; and to the south the Castle of Mur, a complex architectural site formed by the twelfth century monastery of Santa Maria de Mur and the eleventh century Castell de Mur itself, an authentic jewel of Romanesque military architecture. For geology enthusiasts the area is rich in fossil bearing strata and formations from the tertiary period, when the Conca de Tremp was an extensive inland sea now named ‘Tetis’. | |

Casa Navarra is an ideal starting point for many excursions on foot, by bicycle or car. Quite nearby lies the Congost de Montrebeii, a spectacular ravine which follows the course of the river Noguera Ribagorçana, with an old mule track cut into the rock face. A few kilometres further is the Vall de la Terreta, a reserve for birds of prey where many species of vulture, including lammergeier, can be seen. (Note; griffon vultures, Egyptian vultures, red and black kites, buzzards and many lesser birds of prey can all be seen from the house itself, together with a wide range of songbirds, golden oriole, hoopoe, bee-eater . . .)

The Conca Dellà, in the same county, has a small but well-equipped museum which displays how the land lay in the era when dinosaurs roamed the Pallars Jussà!
In the north of the area, the Vall Fosca area, it is possible to enter the National Park of Aigüestortes by way of the cable car of the Sallente Estany-Gento.
